Chronic Pain Care

Injuries and diseases, which cause chronic pain, are debilitating-both physically and mentally. When pain persists, it affects sleep, work, social and family relations and can cause depression. Intervention in the earliest stages post-injury or at the onset of disease helps to prevent some of the sequelae of events, which result in unrelenting pain and disability. Riverfront Physical Therapy’s therapists, have expertise in treating many of the diseases, which can cause chronic pain, as well as an understanding of the physiologic processes resulting from injuries. We assess your specific underlying condition, determine which interventions will best optimize your ability to function independently, while applying our knowledge of techniques such as manual therapy; modalities including: laser, ultrasound, electrical stimulation; relaxation training; family education and instruction and gentle exercise while incorporating your own goals into your treatment choices. We have worked with the Arthritis Foundation to gain an understanding of the diseases involved as well as to provide education to the public about arthritis and pain. We get results because we incorporate our extensive educational backgrounds and experience. Our interventions will encompass the entire sphere of effects chronic pain has on you-the patient at the self, social as well as work and community levels. We will help you incorporate every means available including outside organizations and providers if necessary to provide the support and assistance you may need.
